Continue the learning beyond the whenua
A visit to Te Ihu o Mataoho is often just the beginning.
Our growing collection of educational resources has been developed to help schools, educators, organisations and lifelong learners continue exploring the stories of Ihumaatao long after their visit. Created by the descendants of this whenua, these resources share local histories, whakapapa, maatauranga Maaori and contemporary perspectives that are rarely found in mainstream education.
Whether you're preparing students before a visit, extending classroom learning afterwards, or simply wanting to understand this place more deeply, our resources provide meaningful ways to engage with the stories of Ihumaatao.
Available as downloadable digital resources and selected printed publications, they are designed to support inquiry-based learning, local curriculum development and ongoing professional learning.
Learning doesn't end when the hiikoi finishes. The stories continue.
